Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust (CCS) delivers a wide range of services for children and adults across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Luton, Peterborough, Milton Keynes, Norfolk and Suffolk and has been awarded the highest rating of outstanding by the Care Quality Commission – an achievement which reflects the passion and commitment demonstrated by their 2650 staff.

CCS prioritises quality, is committed to putting its people at the heart of all it does; and is proud to provide high quality services that enable people to live healthier lives and receive care closer to home.  The Trust is rightly proud of its recent achievements and its reputation as an organisation at the forefront of national developments in community services.  It has ambitious plans for the future as partners in integrated care systems across the geography it serves.  The Trust welcomes the opportunities that closer working will bring to introduce new and innovative ways to meet health and social care needs, improve outcomes, reduce health inequalities and work more efficiently. CCS has a strong reputation for collaboration and partnership working, with leaders across the Trust actively engaged in system-wide transformation and innovation at a local and national level.

Whilst the future is an exciting one full of opportunity, the challenges remain.  As the country emerges from the pandemic and faces the impact of the cost of living crisis, it is more important than ever for NHS Trusts to ensure robust, credible leadership as they seek to increase efficiencies and deliver services differently in order to best support those communities they serve.  As it looks to navigate this future, CCS is seeking individuals to join its board who are excited by the opportunity and motivated by the challenge.

These are exceptional opportunities to share your talents and expertise to make a positive difference to the lives of people served by CCS.

NED: The Trust is seeking an individual with clinical and patient safety expertise gained from medical, nursing or allied disciplines in an academic, research, regulatory or clinically focused role, together with an understanding of how to apply this within a non executive capacity in a way that adds tangible value to the leadership of an organisation.  The successful candidate will be able to evidence genuine commitment to patients and the promotion of excellent health care services, with a clear commitment to the diverse communities served by CCS.

ANED: This is an opportunity for someone who may be interested in a future full Non Executive role or may be seeking to expand their leadership skills and experience.  Of particular interest to the Trust are those individuals who bring a track record of and passion for harnessing the potential of digital transformation and innovation within complex environments (particularly that which has resulted in measurable improvement and tangible benefit to customer or service user experience) or can offer commercial expertise gained from public, private or third sector.

Across both roles, successful candidates should live in or have strong connections with at least one of the areas served by the Trust.  Each will bring independence, external perspectives, skills and challenge to strategic decision making and above all else will share the Trust’s values, vision and commitment to ensuring that it remains at the vanguard of delivering excellence at a local and national level.

The best Boards are those that reflect the communities they serve and therefore applications are particularly welcome from people from ethnic minority backgrounds and from disabled people.
